You've been selected for Google Agency Support

This new notification just popped up today within one of my client AdWords account:

You've been selected for Google Agency Support: Schedule an introductory call with Ronita Mondal, your Agency Strategist

You've been selected for Google Agency Support: Schedule an introductory call with Ronita Mondal, your Agency Strategist, today. Learn more | Dismiss

Did the account reach sufficient spending to be "considered" by Google AdWords teams?

I really like how the whole thing is introduced: You've been selected for Google Agency Support: Schedule an introductory call with Ronita Mondal, your Agency Strategist, today. Learn more | Dismiss. They could have also written: You are THE ONE. You finally spend enough money to be considered by us. We see in you big fat huge opportunities for more money! miam miam! ;-)

Learn more or Dismiss ? Of course I'd like to know more about you, Dear Ronita Mondal from Google :-) So let's click on "Learn more". We land on a contact form page asking for some details like name, email, phone number, preferred contact hours and specific topics I'd like to focus on, like:

  • Account Optimization: Improving account performance
  • Conversions: Getting the right customers to click and follow up on your ads
  • Bidding: The best way to bid on relevant search terms
  • General Overview: How to implement key AdWords and online advertising concepts
  • Ad Clicks: Ways to increase clicks on your ads, and visits to your site
  • ROI: How to get the most from your online advertising budget
  • Targeting: Reaching customers at the right time, place and device
  • AdRank: Improving your ads' page position and rank
You've been selected for Google Agency Support

Even if I know there are obvious reasons for Google AdWords guys to do this, like making you spend more, I really think this can be a win-win relationship in most cases: you get faster and customized support; sometimes you can be given very good tips; your Agency Strategist might get you easy access to AdWords beta features... There are many account strategists (or account optimizers) within Google that actually love their job and don't get influenced by financial pressure or incremental revenues targets.
